Flagstaff Fifth Wheels

What about spare parts availability?

The Flagstaff Australia models are built in the US specifically for Australia and NZ. Aussie Flagstaffs use Australia model appliances and running gear. The fridge, stove, hot water service, air conditioners, axles, hubs etc are the same as you will find in many Australia made caravans and motorhomes. Parts and service for these are readily available in Australia directly from the importer or manufacturer. We supply you with the relevant Australian warranty registration forms.

Flagstaff Stocks spares

We at Forest River Australia also carry a huge range of spares right here in Brisbane. When deciding on the level of spare parts to carry in Australia we wanted to ensure that not just warranty type parts would be stocked but parts that would be needed should damage occur; storm, road accident etc.

We usually carry the following items plus much more:

  • axles, wheels, hubs

  • external cladding - fibreglass wall, rubberised roofing

  • Windows, doors, vents, hatches, etc

  • Slide mechanisms and motors

  • Interior doors, trim, upholstery material, panelling, etc

  • Electrical components - lights, globes, motors etc

  • Plumbing parts

  • Side steps, water tanks, brackets, etc etc.

Our list of parts is almost ten pages long. Occasionally we might miss something in which case we can usually source an equivalent part here or air freight from the US quite quickly.

·Recent magazine articles have reported issues with insurance companies covering certain aspects of imported RVs. "The problem with this is that in the event of the unit suffering damage to such sheeting which needs to be replaced then the Insurer will NOT cover the cost of importing the necessary sheeting. The Insurer will only pay for the cost of the equivalent sheeting available in Australia. In the case of a vehicle or fifth wheeler suffering a substantial amount of sheeting damage – say due to a hail storm – then the cost of importing the amount of sheeting could be substantial – a direct cost to the owner of the vehicle.” As noted above we carry the external cladding in stock in Brisbane.

So even if the unthinkable happens and significant damage occurs to your Flagstaff, parts shouldn't slow you down getting back on the road anymore than an Australian built unit.
