Does the lower front section (goose neck) allow a
larger bedroom, lower overall height etc?
The front section that goes over the back of the tow
vehicle, is called the goose neck. It is also where the bedroom is
situated inside. The goose neck on the Australian Flagstaff 23 is lower
than equivalent US models. This is because the tray heights of Japanese
pickups are generally lower than US pick ups. This has
allowed us to both lower the overall height of the 5th wheeler and still
have more headroom. It also reduces the front surface area of our 5th
wheeler which reduces wind resistance and drag. At approximately 2700 mm
(approx. 9 feet without air conditioner), the Australian Flagstaff 23 is
up to 600 mm or 2 feet lower than most American 5th wheels. |
